Salary Range: $55,000- $62,000

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor level degree in Public Health, Organizational Leadership/Development or a related field (MA preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in programmatic audits.
  • Professional license in the Behavioral Health field preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, treatment planning, outcome measurement and quality management.
  • Experience writing reports and entering data into databases.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, licensing and accrediting body policies, procedures, and best practices, including Department of Children and Families and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with the staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to enforce policies and provide constructive criticism.
  • Ability to understand the complexities of prevention Preventive/health care delivery systems in an urban setting
  • Being meticulous/paying attention to deals and able to spot errors quickly.
  • Ability to multitask and self-manage.
  • Ability to work in diverse settings with populations of varying backgrounds.
  • Effective and consistent leadership abilities.
  • Grant writing, management and compliance experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, decision-making, interpersonal and computer skills.

Position Summary

Gang Alternative, Inc. (GA) is of the leading nonprofit companies in the state of Florida. Over the past 18 years, we’ve been growing and increasing our footprint. The Quality Assurance/Improvement Manager is a member of the management team and actively supports the philosophy of the agency through the development and enforcement of sound policies and procedures and maintaining a high level of commitment to GA.

The Quality Assurance/Improvement Manager oversees adherence to the agency’s policies and procedures in compliance with accrediting/certifying bodies. S/he is responsible for ensuring that the agency is always “audit-ready.”  The Quality Assurance/Improvement Coordinator also serves as a resource to funding sources, licensing entities, and accrediting bodies as it relates to compliancy issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting agency wide programmatic audits
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards including leading the process for securing licensure and accreditation.
  • Develop (through coordination with the executive team), revise and guide the implementation of agency policies and procedures.
  • Establish and/or revise existing company policies and procedures necessary for successful implementation of GA’s Quality Improvement (QI) Program
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management program.
  • Prepare individual programs for contract monitoring process.
  • Review and become familiar with monitoring tools for each individual program.
  • Complete, organize, and maintain monitoring documentation in accordance with agency and funder requirements.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits and assist in resolving deficiencies that impact GA’s compliance to regulatory, licenses and accreditation.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
  • Remain current in reference to CARF accreditation standards and Department of Children and Families regulations/standards.
  • Participate in complaints and investigation as requested by supervisor.
  • Oversee secret shopper initiative.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key individuals and agencies in the community.
  • Continuously review, utilize and administer client satisfaction surveys to improve quality of service.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and report on stakeholder focus groups.
  • Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to meet standards and improve effectiveness of delivered services
  • Assist in tracking and trending CQI data (including conducting reviews of incident reports and client satisfaction surveys and complete respective tracking logs)
  • Conduct regular observation of program delivery to monitor and ensure program fidelity.
  • Prepare presentations designed to promote Gang Alternative, Inc. programs as education content for area/regional/state forums.
  • Participate in agency meetings, in-service trainings and workshops as deemed appropriate.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires independent travel between workstation and other sites. Consequently, the incumbent must always maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage on personal vehicle during
  • Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, talk, hear and lift presentation materials, including equipment.
