GA shows compassion through selfless giving

Matthew 25:35-40: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

At Gang Alternative, Inc. (GA), we work to identify and meet the needs of people in our communities as a part of our calling to do God’s will as servant leaders. One of our hallmark community stewardship events is our Annual Compassion Project. Recognizing that Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude, GA has been boldly expressing its thanks to God by blessing the needy with sustenance in the form of turkeys for the past eight years. This year was no exception.  On Saturday November 17, we distributed 1,000 turkeys to the communities that we serve including our clients and their families. To God be the glory! Through fundraising, sponsorship and the pooling of resources, we played a part in alleviating some of the stress that the holiday season brings to vulnerable populations in the communities that we serve. This event also doubled as a community health, education and resource fair and as a service learning project for our youth program participants.

GA is grateful to our Compassion Project sponsors and partners: Walmart, CBT College, Augmented Intelligence Academy, Jessie Trice Community Health Center, CareerSource of South Florida, City of Miami Police Department, Community Christian Church and New Vision Church.  For more information on how you can support GA through selfless giving in helping us to realize our other annual community stewardship initiatives such as the Toy Drive and Back-to-School Drive, contact us at
