Project RENEW Dade
Project RENEW Dade (Rebuilding Efforts, Networks, Education and Work) is a workforce development program funded by the US Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. RENEW Dade is designed to help adults 25 and over living in Miami-Dade County who are or have been justice-involved in the last two years.
RENEW helps them obtain education and occupational skills training that leads to an industry-recognized recognized credential, so that they can gain and retain jobs aligned with selected career pathways in the following industry sectors: Construction & Building Trades; Transportation & Utilities; Professional & Business Services; Information Technology; Education & Health Services; and Leisure & Hospitality.
RENEW Dade is a free program designed to help adults gain greater self-sufficiency by ultimately providing placement in jobs that pay a livable wage. The Project RENEW model is founded on evidence-based curricula, approaches and programs and includes ongoing legal support, navigational case management, GED or high school completion, occupational skills training, work readiness training, soft skills development, job placement, job retention support, mentorship, and linkages to support services.
Gang Alternative, Inc. benefits from the guidance of its Employer and Industry Advisory Committee which provides technical input to GA’s workforce development program and activities. RENEW Dade is implemented through the support of Greater Miami Legal Services, CareerSource South Florida, CBT College, and several social service providers.
