Promoting Behavioral Health
The Urban Partnership for a Drug Free Community Coalition (UPDFCC) is a group of community members, from all corners of the county, coming together to help support efforts to reduce substance use and promote mental health. The UPDFCC was born from a group of concerned citizens who wanted to make Miami Dade County an even healthier and happier place to live.
The formal coalition was created in 2010, after a great deal of capacity building, data collection and strategic development. Soon after, we received funding from various local, state and federal sources which propelled the coalition forward in working towards community goals. Today, we stay steadfast in our efforts for reduce youth use of alcohol and other drugs while supporting an environment of mental wellness.
Mission
Providing Miami-Dade County residents with the tools, education and support needed to ensure a mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy, drug free community.
Vision
A Miami-Dade County where all youth are empowered and have the skills needed to succeed. Where community members are supported, free of stigma and have access to necessary resources.
How We Do It
By engaging 12 sectors of the community, we develop and implement strategies designed to inform, educate, and support all Miami-Dade County families. Through education and information, we support all residents in their efforts to live in a drug-free community.
