Youth Empowerment Drug Free Coalition (YE-DFC)

YE DFC is a collaborative initiative aimed at preventing and reducing youth marijuana and alcohol use within Broward County with a focus on the Pompano Beach community. Its mission is to prevent and reduce youth substance use and misuse in Broward County through education, advocacy, and community engagement.

It aims to implement evidence-based strategies that promote healthy decision-making and well-being among youth, utilizing culturally sensitive approaches and methods that support rather than punish youth. With a focus on increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors. YE-DFC is committed to implementing evidence-based and practice-driven prevention strategies to promote healthier behaviors among youth in our community. Through these comprehensive efforts, the coalition strives to create an environment that discourages substance use and fosters positive outcomes for young individuals.

YE-DFC embodies a multidisciplinary approach, integrating expertise from education, healthcare, law enforcement, and youth advocacy sectors, among others. The coalition’s mission is grounded in education, advocacy and community engagement as well as data driven analysis which dictates how it addresses youth substance use.
