Mentoring through Positive Action, Character, and Transformation (Project M-PACT)

Mentoring through Positive Action, Character, and Transformation (Project M-PACT) is one of Gang Alternative’s mentoring programs. Each year, we walk alongside up to 50 at-risk youth, helping them build confidence, make healthier choices, and stay on track in school and in life.

Youth meet weekly in small groups of two-hour, trauma-informed mentoring sessions focused on communication, decision-making, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships. Once each year, a special month-long module addresses bullying and cyberbullying, helping youth practice empathy, respect, and safe conflict resolution.

In addition to group mentoring, each young person receives monthly one-to-one mentoring that reinforces lessons, supports academic success, and helps them set and achieve personal goals.

Project M-PACT is led by experienced GA staff, including a Program Manager, Youth Prevention Specialist, and a certified teacher, with oversight from organizational leadership. Through this program, Gang Alternative continues its mission of building character that lasts and creating safer, healthier communities for our youth.

Every young person deserves a caring mentor, a safe space to grow, and the chance to write a better story for their future.
