Qualifications and Competencies

  • Current Florida license for independent clinical practice with children and adolescents, such as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT, in good standing.
  • Documented TF-CBT training and experience treating children and families affected by trauma, violence, abuse, or crime.
  • Experience with child trauma assessment, family engagement, crisis procedures, telehealth, and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to meet credential verification, applicable screening, insurance, and contract requirements. Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred.

Position Summary 

Gang Alternative, Inc. seeks qualified clinicians to deliver Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to child and youth victims of crime ages 0–17 through Project SHINE.

It estimated that 50 participants will receive approximately 10 therapy hours annually. Services may be provided at GA’s Lauderdale Lakes office, approved community sites, or through an approved virtual platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee project work plans, service procedures, outreach, partner coordination, deliverables, and progress toward serving at least 75 unduplicated children and youth annually.
  • Conduct clinical intake, trauma and functioning assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based TF-CBT with children and caregivers as clinically appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing therapy, monitor treatment progress, and coordinate referrals and supportive services with the Program Manager / Victim Advocate.
  • Maintain complete, timely, confidential clinical records and service data in approved systems. Follow consent, safety, telehealth, privacy, and mandated reporting procedures.
  • Participate in case coordination and quality review under the executed agreement. Offer accessible appointment times, including evenings or weekends as agreed.
