The Project M3 program

The Project M3 program empowers Black middle school-aged boys, primarily of Haitian and Afro-Caribbean descent, with the knowledge and awareness needed to reduce gender-based violence driven by power and control dynamics.

South Florida faces high rates of violence against women and girls (VAWG) through domestic violence, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking, creating significant health, economic, and social impacts. Miami-Dade County has some of the highest VAWG incidents statewide, demanding a community-focused, preventative approach. Project M3 fills this gap by offering mentorship and educational programming aimed at changing harmful social norms and promoting respect and accountability.

The Project M3 Mentor:

  • Actively advocates for VAWG prevention and challenges toxic masculinity
  • Promotes healthy, respectful relationships
  • Cares for their mentee, holding them accountable and encouraging growth
  • Models servant leadership and inspires mentees to set meaningful goals
  • Helps mentees envision a positive future and develop their leadership skills
