Qualifications and Competencies
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counselling, Psychology, or related field.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counsellor (LMHC).
- Demonstrated experience using Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy modality with at-risk children/youth.
- At least 2 years’ supervisory experience leading a program team with demonstrated experience supervising therapists.
- Demonstrated experience managing a federally funded program, including doing program monitoring and reporting and budget management.
- Ability to travel throughout the tri-county area.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills and the ability to work using analytical thinking to make critical decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural competence and ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse work team and clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
Note:
- This position may require independent travel between workstation and other sites throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. Consequently, the incumbent must maintain valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times during employment.
- The incumbent must be able to pass a Level II Background Check.
- Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, talk, hear and lift presentation materials, including equipment.

Position Summary
Gang Alternative, Inc.’s Collective Action for Addressing Trauma Program involves programming in the tri-county area, namely: Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties. It is designed to effectively address community violence and collective trauma, using a comprehensive, integrated and multi-sectoral approach to substance use prevention, violence prevention, and trauma-focused community engagement. The Program Manager will oversee a program to promote resilience, trauma-informed approaches, and equity in communities that have recently faced community violence, and collective trauma. The program assists high-risk youth and families through the implementation of evidence-based violence prevention, and community youth engagement programs.
This position is directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program including planning, implementing, and coordinating both the programmatic and operational activities of the program in accordance with the mission and goals of the Gang Alternative, Inc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, coordinate and lead program activities to ensure that goals, objectives and outcomes are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. This includes timely preparation of all management and grant required reports.
- Supervise program staff including preparing staff performance standards and conducting staff performance reviews.
- Coordinate and provide comprehensive and integrated services, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, to Black immigrants living in high crime, high violence and high poverty communities in the tri-county area: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
- Coordinate community and data-driven efforts as guided by a diverse community coalition with social service providers and youth and adult with lived experiences.
- Coordinate community violence interventions and trauma-focused approaches to provide services and programming to promote resilience, and advance equity in high-risk communities that have experienced exponential trauma from community violence.
- Conduct outreach, including attending community events, as a means of recruiting and engaging organizations for program support.
- Coordinate and manage partnerships and vendor contracts.
- Oversee overall program development and implementation.
- Ensure proper monitoring and evaluation for continuous performance improvement.
- Ensure program fidelity and proper data collection and reporting.
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
- Actively participate in all activities of Gang Alternative, Inc.
- Abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client information.
